One of my stops in particular was of Curator and Artist, Marcelo Pazán, owner of Pazán Gallery. I had the pleasure of meeting Marcelo a few years back in 2011 during a MARTY award ceremony where we were each nominated for a MARTY award. I was honoured when I was nominated for the category of Emerging Performing Artists and Marcelo was nominated for the category of Visual Artists. It was definitely a proud year for the Ecuadorians, as Marcelo and I are both of Ecuadorian decent.
Since then, I have gotten to know Marcelo and I can honestly say that he is one of the most ambitious, hard-working, creative and passionate individuals that I've come across to date. Once Marcelo sets his mind onto something, he doesn't allow fear or obstacles stop him from pursuing his dream. His paintings are one -of-a-kind and in particular his 3-D art, where 3-D glasses are needed to view the paintings has captured the attention of media, other artists and the community. The opening of an art gallery was a long-time dream for Marcelo and he finally made it into a reality when he opened up Pazán Gallery in October 2011. Pazán Gallery, is located on the fringe of "trendy" Port Credit Village. It features; 3-D paintings, digital art, photography, oil, acrylic and water colour paintings. Pazán Gallery also supports and features work of other talented, upcoming artists; currently the Pazán Gallery is featuring the work of artist, Kristina Kirkwood, painter/sculptor who uses many techniques including painting, printmaking, sculpture, mould making and stained glass. Kristina's work is showcased from June 8 to July 8, 2013. If you would like more information please visit http://www.pazangallery.com or email Marcelo at [email protected].
The moral of the story is, no dream is too big that can't be made into your reality. Thanks Marcelo for the reminder.
